Our approach to being faithful to the whole counsel of God is to focus on Christ by expository preaching in morning worship, topical studies in our second hour classes, and systematic theology (i.e. Westminster Confession of Faith, etc.) in the evening studies.

Our belief is that the scriptures teach us that the Church’s great commission is to, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:19-20). In regards to our children, we believe that this is a primary duty of the parents and that the church should assist and come along side them in the performance of this duty. We desire that all of our children will come to a realization of their own sin and their need for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, and that they will make a real and earnest profession of faith in Christ, accompanied by a heartfelt desire to walk by the Spirit and live lives of holiness. To that end, we have developed the following curriculum that is both structured and comprehensive, equipping the children (and the adults) to know the God whom they worship and the great salvation that He has provided for them in His Son, Christ Jesus. We also stress the importance of catechizing and have developed a program of using and learning the Westminster Shorter Catechism for all in our congregation, from toddlers to adults (view our Christian Education program syllabus in PDF).

Elementary (Toddlers thru 6th Grade):

Bible Grammar (Knowledge) – During these formative years we want to introduce the little children to the stories, characters and events of the Bible.

Junior High (7th thru 8th Grade)

Bible Logic (Understanding) – This age group will learn a systematic and orderly understanding of the doctrines taught in Scripture from a Reformed perspective.

High School (9th thru 12th Grade)

Bible Rhetoric/Application (Wisdom) – At this age we focus on application of what has been learned by defending the faith, sharing the faith, and living exemplary Christian lives (i.e. apologetics, prayer, evangelism, biblical theology, etc).

Adults

During our 2nd Hour, the adults have been studying various topics such as evangelism, apologetics, church history, the doctrine of sanctification, proper Biblical interpretation, etc.

Westminster Shorter Catechism

This being one of our subordinate standards, we encourage the entire congregation, beginning in the Toddler years, to learn and memorize the questions and answers of the Shorter Catechism. Catechizing is an old and proven method to learn the truths of scripture in a way that will equip the saints to be able to give a “…reason for the hope that is in you” (1 Pet. 3:15).
